Whats the difference between jean types like skinny, twisted, straight, bootcut,etc?
We all love the different syles, brands and makes of jeans. jeans are some of the toughest trouser wear, or as in America they call them pants you can find. Jeans come in many styles and fits based on the manufacturer; some of the more popular brands include Lee's, Levis, Urban Pipeline, Unionbay, Wranglers, Jack & Jones. and Criminal.
Jeans originated as early as the 16th centry and was orginaly us as workers clothes because they was durable. Today Jeans are seen more as a fashion statement with many different designs, textures and styles to choose from.
Jeans range from Ankle, Baggy, Flares, Boot Cut, Bell Bottoms, Lowe Rise, Hip, relaxed, Loose, sagging, skinny, slim straight, jorts, shortfalls, overalls, and many others. As new Brands hit the markets new designs are created all the time.
So what main features should I know about jeans Skinny Jeans
skinny is when its really tight to your leg, everyone seems to be wearing them now. They're fitted, and formed to the body. Lot of models and punk rockers wear them. I like them because they remind me of the tapered jeans of like the late 80's, early 90's.
Straight Jeans
straight is one width all the way down the jean so same at the thigh as at the calf. Straight are ... well straight, No taper, no flare, not wide legged.
BootCut Jeans
Bootcut is slim at the top then starts to flare out, Boot cuts seem to well, cut so they flutter around the ankle, and have a bit of a flare. They are nicely shaped to the body.
Twisted Jeans
Twisted is to do with stich design, new invention is twisted seam jeans, they are designed to fit more comfortably and fit arouud your bodies natural lines.
Other Types
There is also a fit called boy friends and slouch these are baggy jeans for the larger people.
Boyfriend jeans are also fairly self explanatory. They look like you just pulled on your boyfriends jeans... nudge nudge. They have similar fit, and styles to a mans jean, but are made to market for a female audience.
Cropped is like a purposeful flood pant. I guess if someone wants to accent their heels, that would interest them.
When it refers to rise, (high rise, low rise, ultra low rise, etc) that simply means where the jeans fall on the hip.. if they are like this:
